A structured system for prevention, inspection and documentation.
The THMS® system is based on the fact that hygiene risks are not limited to visible surfaces. Textile materials and indoor air can absorb moisture, skin particles, dust, microorganisms and allergenic components over long periods of use.
Relevant factors include:
- dust mites and allergenic particles
- bacterial and microbial contamination
- fungal spores and moisture-related contamination
- dust and particle build-up in textiles and indoor air
- contamination in mattresses, pillows, upholstery, filters and ventilation areas
The THMS® standard combines visual inspection, documented sampling, hygiene treatment and recurring checks. This makes hygiene measures traceable instead of merely performed.
The system should be reviewed and developed regularly in line with current hygiene, indoor air and allergy research.
